Ritz Barkelton Grooming & Spa

One groomer. One dog. No cages.

The spa sits in its own wing, away from the play halls, because a nervous dog and a barking corridor are a bad combination. Your dog is assigned a single groomer for the whole appointment and stays with that person from the first brush to the last towel. Nothing is dried in a cage — every coat is hand-finished with a stand dryer, at the dog's pace. Three packages, priced by size, plus à la carte treatments you can add to any stay.

The Barkelton Bath

$58– $96  / by size

The maintenance visit. A warm hydrobath, two lathers, a proper rinse, hand drying and a full brush-out — no clipper work, no scissoring. This is the right choice between full grooms, for short-coated dogs who don't need cutting, and for guests on longer stays who should go home clean rather than restyled.

The Full Groom

$92– $165  / by size

Everything in the Bath, then the cut. We take the style from a written note or a photo you send ahead, and we'd rather ask than guess — if a request isn't right for the coat in front of us, the groomer will call you before the clippers come out. Breed-standard work, teddy trims, puppy cuts, hand-stripping on request.

The Spa Ritual

It is the appointment we recommend for senior dogs, itchy skin, and any guest who finds grooming stressful — the whole point is that there is time to slow down.

Grooming Rate Card

Priced by size, not by surprise.

Grooming is priced on your dog's weight band, because a Giant coat is genuinely four times the work of a Toy one. The band is set at check-in on our scale, and the price on this card is the price you pay — the only additions are the coat conditions listed underneath, and those are quoted to you before any work starts.

On matting. A badly matted coat cannot be brushed out humanely, and we will not pull at one to save a style. If your dog arrives matted, the groomer will call you with two options and a price before touching them: de-matting by the quarter hour where the coat can be saved, or a short clip-off where it cannot. We always choose the dog's comfort over the haircut.

The Grooming Standard

The rules the spa runs on.

Grooming is the part of a resort stay where things most often go wrong, and almost always for the same reasons: too many dogs per groomer, cage dryers left running, and a groomer pushing on with a style the coat can't take. We wrote the spa's rules around those three failures.

One groomer, one dog. Your dog is never handed between staff mid-appointment and is never left on a table unattended.
No cage drying, ever. Every coat is dried by hand and stand dryer. There is not a single cage dryer on the property.
We call before we cut. If a requested style is wrong for the coat, or we find matting, you get a phone call and a price before anything happens.
Hypoallergenic by default. pH-balanced, fragrance-optional products. Bring your own medicated shampoo and we'll use it at no charge.
Senior and anxious guests set the pace. Appointments are booked long so they can stop, rest and resume. No dog is finished on a schedule.
A written note every time. Coat, skin, ears, nails and anything we'd want a vet to look at, handed to you at pickup.
